And I can tell you, Yes we can. Let me take you through my journey of How I made my $0 to $100 in just 2 Months of work.

This is my experience sharing article, and the first one on a social platform. Hope you would like it and provide me with your feedback & comments. So I can really build up on the target set by end 2025.

I am sharing my personal experience and with research hoping it will help you too. Ok, Let me first introduce myself.

I am Manoj Madhavan with over 20+ years of experience & passionate about Technology and Digital space. Currently a freelancer offering coding, design, SEO, digital marketing consulting over past few years.

I own a technology company “Pillai Infotech” providing programming & IT consulting services & also started a digital agency “DigitalBabu” in Oct 2018 for content creation, marketing & advertising which is currently a group of 5 individuals like me who wanted to be free from corporate actions, working together from a shared office to support each other with the workloads as per their expertise.

So Here comes the biggest pandemic in March 2020.

So had lot of time in the lockdown period. Not able to go out from my house with almost empty pockets.

So I was looking out to utilize the time effectively, by doing some personal branding to make some money.

And, As you people did watching videos on NetFlix, Amazon Prime and YouTube. Spending time over social media. I came across something interesting yes a post on facebook about the video on youtube. “How to make money from youtube in lockdown”.

Then What, I spent my time searching about how people are making money by creating and posting youtube videos. And also searched “How much youtubers earn” by creating video content etc.

I also came across some videos & articles about Passive Income strategies and Ideas. For a few days. I spent my time going through the passive income videos, making money with youtube, making money with blogging.

To my surprise I saw young who are professional bloggers and in their early 30’s posting 4, 5 & 6 figure income strategies.

The first thought was “Is it so easy to make money online over $1000 in a month?”. After watching and analysing the content and how they actually earn money online.

I asked myself, Can I also do it?
Having experience in developing website, apps and creating content, graphics for the really big ecommerce brands out there. I have never thought of this kind of income can be generated.

Well, Then the next question was “Am I late to the party?”
Then I said I have got my own skills and lot of experience with myself.
I can still catch some fishes off this digital ocean. Do you agree?

Of Course Yes, So still keeping my interest & further researched about the bloggers and their blogs. And Guess What i figured out what It was all about.

All the video and content suggested to find a high paying niche category to make money online by blogging and selling affiliate products on it from Amazon, Clickbank etc.

So searched more about Blogging Niche categories, It said about how to to drop shipping, affiliate marketing, cryptocurrency, stock trading, health and fitness.

I was really confused, How come you can earn from these niche creating a website and posting products to it, spending money to drive traffic to the website, building original content, doing SEO, building backlinks (it is a tough job to do using white hat technique).

I checked out Amazon Affiliate, Clickbank and the commissions are.

And guess what, the sales these will generate somewhere between 2% to 18% sales commission, that too only after the sale is confirmed and after 60 to 90 days.

But thought of trying it out, In the course of my research, I found a really interesting video about how to find the right niche for you. And It was about:

finding the right Niche to make money online & generating passive income by one of the strategy, which I also liked was mostly used by japanese called “Ikigai”.

Following that I tried to come up with my Ikigai:
My Profession: Tech, Digital & Investing
My Passion: Programming, Designing & Digital Marketing, Teaching & Learning, Data Analytics, Investing, Real Estate.
My Mission: Building a Personal Brand, Making Money, Educating.
My Vocation: Consulting, Freelancing,

What I was able to drill out was to create a website about tech, digital marketing, SEO, selling digital products and provide helping information my clients, friends and relatives mostly asked me about.

How can i grow my business or promote on social media
How can i generate leads
Which is the best laptop/computer
Which is the best software etc…

I was able to conclude on.

These are the figures posted by bloggers about their earning on the web.

1) Ad Revenue
Objective: Creating videos and content of how to, informative, reviews etc.
Revenue Share: 10% to 20%

2) Affiliate Revenue
Objective: Joining Affiliate Networks and promoting digital / physical products from their videos, websites.
Revenue Share: 50% to 80% A huge chunk

3) Selling own products
Objective: A few of them have developed their own physical / digital products like ebooks, webinars.

Now I have the Niche & My Ikigai, But Wait.

But, How are they able to generate a 5 / 6 figure income per month?

So I decided to find out The Secret.

The Math — Reverse calculation

Target to generate $1000.
Selling products worth $40.
You get upto 8% in commission per sale.

So you make average $3.2 per sale (8% of $40).
You need minimum 350 sales per month. (350 * $3.2 = $1050)
Assume you have 10 such products listed on your website.
So 35 sales per product on average.

Lets calculate, Traffic required to your website to generate for the target.
Average conversion rate is 1% to 3%. With retargeting you can reach upto 5%.
So we need to drive nearly 100 visitors per sale or two.
All with the right intent to buy the product to meet the 3% conversion rate.

So nearly 1,00,000 or more visitors per month is required to get the desired revenue.

The expense in building website, generating traffic, creating content, sales funnel, retargeting and so much more…

Still I gave it a try as now I have My Ikigai and the research

I went on to create a website and planned it out, As being a software architect for many years and B.E. Mech by education. I asked myself these question to come up with.
